Challenge
The DoneDeal team needed a more flexible way to create and manage websites for automotive dealerships.
The existing platform had limited customisation and made complex configuration difficult to manage. The challenge was to increase flexibility while keeping the experience clear and efficient.
Solution
Redesign the platform with a clearer, more structured configuration experience.
Complex settings were organised into focused sections, with richer customisation and clearer content structures. This gave the DoneDeal team greater control while keeping the platform simple and consistent to use.

The Product

The platform gives the DoneDeal team the tools to configure and manage each dealership website.

Designing a Flexible Platform
The platform needed to support a wide range of dealership requirements while keeping the experience consistent.
From Platform to Website
Each dealership website brought together its own branding, vehicle stock and supporting functionality within a consistent customer experience.
Outcome
The redesigned platform gave the DoneDeal team a more structured way to create and manage dealership websites, while allowing each site to retain its own branding, content and functionality.
The project brought a complex internal management experience into a clearer, more flexible system that could support different dealership requirements without creating a separate workflow for each one.
What I Learned
This project reinforced the importance of designing for both sides of a product: the people managing the system and the customers experiencing the result.
The biggest challenge was finding the balance between flexibility and simplicity. Giving the DoneDeal team more control could easily have made the platform more complex, so I focused on clear information architecture, modular components and progressive configuration.
It also strengthened my approach to designing products that need to scale across different use cases while maintaining a consistent underlying system.
